Take a Punt!
Punting is a truly timeless tradition in Oxford. Punt down the River Cherwell or the River Thames and see Oxford from a totally different perspective. You can hire a punt at the Magdalen Bridge Boat House (remember they pronounce it Maudlyn around here!) and float down the river past the Botanic Gardens or the College Meadows where Lewis Carroll taught. Your family gets a peaceful river experience, and whoever has the quant (what they call the pole) gets a bit of a cardio workout – it’s win win!

Oxford by Bike
Being a University town, cycling is a hugely popular way of getting around and it is pretty flat countryside so the routes are easygoing. In the town, of course, the roads are quite busy, but get onto the side roads or the river towpaths and things are much easier. You can cycle from the town centre though Jerico and to the trendy restaurants of Summertown or head towards Grandpont and set off on the towpath beside the Thames all the way to Radley.
